The Material Story
The best shorts for warm weather are not made from polyester technical fabric. They are made from linen. Linen is hollow at the fibre level, which means it transfers heat away from the body faster than almost any other textile. It is naturally moisture-wicking and dries quickly without the synthetic coating that makes fast-dry fabrics work.
The Linen Shorts are made from 100% European linen, lightweight and woven for warmth and movement. They have the relaxed drape of linen combined with enough structure to hold their shape through a full day of wear.
Like all linen, these shorts improve with age. The first wash softens them slightly. After ten washes, they are noticeably softer. After a season of wear, they have developed a character that no new garment can replicate.
Machine wash cold. Line dry preferred. Linen wrinkles naturally and that is correct. No dry clean.
Store folded, not hung. Natural fibres retain shape better when folded for longer periods.
Natural fibres improve with proper care. Avoid harsh detergents. Use a gentle, plant-based wash where possible.
At end of life, this garment will biodegrade completely. No microplastics. No synthetic residue.
